Logo

The Phenomenal Bodies logo was designed by Wenqing Nan, a student in the School of Art History, University of St Andrews, 2021-2025.

The logo design highlights Phenomenal Bodies as a project based in Scotland through its blue background and white text. It aims to be a simple and memorable visual slogan for the project as a whole.

The logo design also considers the diverse bodies this project addresses, and aims to be inclusive to people with different accessibility needs. The logo’s colour palette is chosen using an accessible colour palette generator to ensure it has strong readability for people with colour-blind conditions. The braille of the letters ‘PB’ is also part of the logo, giving it the potential to be accessible for the visually-impaired once printed.

The font of the logo is the common font Arial. This font is highly accessible on various devices and is dyslexia-friendly. The distance between the letters is slightly increased compared to the default design to provide greater readability. Finally, a logo in reverse colour is also made to be used on darker backgrounds to ensure the logo stands out with high contrast.
